Indian Canyon Post Acute Care Center is looking for a licensed vocational nurse to join our team! This person is responsible for assisting physicians while providing treatment to residents with a variety of medical conditions. 

The ideal candidate will display compassion, education, proficiency, and experience while assisting the resident. This critical role assists in creating and managing nursing care plans and will participate in the evaluation of current and future medical needs of the resident. 

Duties:
  • Excellent communication skills and strong customer service for residents. 
  • Maintain an acceptable standard of nursing practice and professional decorum.
  • Chart nursing notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflect the care provided to the resident, as well as the residents response to the care. 
  •  Provide resident care including carrying out physician's orders for care, including providing medication and treatment. 
  • Perform treatments in a manner that protects the dignity and self-respect of the resident. 
  • Accurately observe and assess wounds and pressure sores. Give prompt notification to physicians of lack of progress in healing or deterioration with the current treatment and/or signs and symptoms of infection. 
  • Ensure appropriate wound care management services are included in the plan to promote healing which includes but are not limited to special mattresses and nutritional supplements. 
  • Assist in preparing and updating care plans for treatment-related issues. 
Requirements:
  • Valid nursing license in the state of California.
  • In-depth knowledge of wound care principles, techniques, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures related to wound care. 
  • Strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members. 
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple patients and tasks simultaneously.
Job Type: 
  • Full-time 
  • 12-hour shifts 
  • 7am-7pm
  • 3 12-hour shifts a week
