POSITION SUMMARY
The Registered Dietitian Consultant provides nutrition oversight and clinical consultation to support resident nutritional status, regulatory compliance, and quality outcomes in the Skilled Nursing Facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The consultant is expected to provide timely assessments, appropriate nutrition recommendations, effective follow-up of high-risk residents, regulatory support, and ongoing collaboration with facility leadership and the interdisciplinary team.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Registered Dietitian Consultant provides nutrition oversight and clinical consultation to support resident nutritional status, regulatory compliance, and quality outcomes in the Skilled Nursing Facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete nutrition assessments and follow-up reviews.
- Monitor residents with weight loss, poor intake, dehydration, wounds, tube feeding, or other nutritional risks.
- Develop and recommend appropriate nutrition interventions.
- Participate in care planning and support nutrition-related MDS documentation.
- Review weights, diets, supplements, menus, and meal services.
- Collaborate with Nursing, Dietary, MDS, Rehab, and other interdisciplinary team members.
- Provide dietary and nutrition education to staff as needed.
- Participate in QAPI and identify nutrition-related trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Support survey readiness and compliance with applicable CMS and state requirements.
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.
- Current Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential.
- Meets applicable California requirements for dietetic practice.
- Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred.
- Knowledge of geriatric nutrition, therapeutic diets, MDS, care planning, and SNF regulations.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
